Disobedience and Effects

I have discovered that the sincerity of God in dealing with mankind is so intense, hence the reason for His drastic actions when an issue of disobedience erupts.

The original plan of God was to ordain Saul as king over the Israelites and create a kingship lineage from him that will extend a great deal during his lifetime and even after him. God’s view of plans and vision for man are always very firm and clear, especially to the chosen. If you are chosen and saved by the blood of the Lamb, a supernatural innate ability is given to you by the creator, and this usually gives nudges on what the plans are and how to go about your journey with Him, who has called and separated you for His glory. Apostle Paul states in Romans 8:30 “And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified;those he justified, he also glorified”. God prepared Saul to reign over His people and to deliver them from the Philistines, who were terrorising the people of God.

Consequently, God expected Saul to play a part of total obedience in his relationship with Him. On the contrary, Saul decided to do what he seems right to him without considering the complete instructions from the Most High God, who chose him, even when he was unqualified. “Samuel said to Saul, “I am the one the Lord sent to anoint you king over his people Israel; so listen now to the message from the Lord. This is what theLord Almighty says: ‘I will punish the Amalekites for what they did to Israel when they waylaid them as they came up from Egypt. Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy[a] all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”( 1 Samuel 15:1-3). But to my amazement, Saul who felt so unqualified and unfit when God commanded Samuel to anoint him as king, actually failed to carry out all the instructions God gave him and kept some things aside. Saul answered, “The soldiers brought them from the Amalekites; they spared the best of the sheep and cattle to sacrifice to the Lord your God, but we totally destroyed the rest.”   (1 Samuel 15:15). He did not destroy all, as instructed by God and that was the climax of his disobedience to God and at the point he lost his status with the Almighty as the chosen.

However, the actuality of God’s decision to choose a man for His glory and the result is a function of whether the individual is really following the instructions of God to the letters. Samuel was very disappointed in Saul’s act of disobedience, as that was an immediate cause of his downfall. 1 Samuel 15:28 states “Samuel said to him, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors—to one better than you. 29 He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.” Immediately the chosen disobeys the one that has chosen him by grace, there comes a reaction, which is usually a rejection. God rejected Saul and his kingdom was torn away from him. I have discovered that the sincerity of God in dealing with mankind is so intense, hence the reason for His drastic actions when an issue of disobedience erupts.

Sonship Given by Grace

It is then a great lesson of “From Grace to Grass” and it is for everyone who has accepted Christ as their Lord and Saviour. The Almighty has chosen you from wherever you are coming from, all to His glory, and you owe Him your total allegiance and absolute response to His will in obedience. This is the only way to keep that status of Sonship, the Chosen, which has been given by grace and you have also been made justified by the same.
