They say that some words and phrases reveal the character of a nation. A recent book suggests that the characteristically English response to life is “Typical, just typical. I’ll have to make the best of it, I suppose. Never mind. There’s always something. Mustn’t grumble.” Not exactly a positive confession! Words reveal so much about us, but there are no words to compare with the Lord’s words.
We were meditating on Psalm 12:6
“And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.” We felt the Lord was saying: “Blessed are those who wait before Me daily to hear My words. Blessed are they who value every word that comes from Me. Blessed are all those who store up My words in their hearts, as those who store up riches in a hidden and secure place. Blessed are they who come to the waters of My Spirit, for they shall find the gold that is hidden in its depths. Blessed are those who love My words and live by them, for in the practicing of My words, there is great reward. My words bring enlightenment and great refreshment and joy that knows no bounds. Herein is wisdom beyond the wisdom of the wise. Here is truth in all its radiance and life in all its fullness. Herein is comfort and peace in such measure not to be found in any other place.
Meditate upon My word, study it, and live in My word until it becomes the bedrock of your being. Beautify yourself with My word, and let it be far more precious to you than mere silver or gold. Seek the aid of My Holy Spirit, who inspired the word, for He is the best of teachers and the safest of guides.
Let My word be the lantern that shows the pathway when all is dark and the light that sparkles upon the waters when the experiences of your life are happy and the day is bright. For My word is a word for all seasons and every day of your life from youth to age. My word is your daily food, and by My word, you shall live. These are days to promote My word with your gifting, energy. By every means in your power, endeavor to make My word known. My word is studied by scholars and sung by choirs. Heaven and earth join together to glory in My beautiful, flawless words. They are the expression of My being, and they are the most profound wisdom revealed to man.”
