It is in Christ Jesus that man can be free from the punishment of the law of sin and death because Christ Jesus paid the price that man could not pay for himself.
Due to the His faithfulness and love for mankind, God sent His only son, Jesus to the world to die for the sins of the world and on the third day, He resurrected. The only way to overcome death was for a sinless and righteous man to take away the sin which man had committed against God. Since death was taken away, it does not have the sole right to kill man anymore.
The Curse of Death Terminated
Jesus came to terminate the curse of death, so death will not have power over man anymore. So, when the bible says “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. It means it is only in Christ Jesus that man can have life, and without Christ Jesus, there is no life anywhere. (Romans 8:2). “For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death”. To be born again is migrating from the realm of sin and death into the realm of life in Christ Jesus. Man can receive the gift of life that Christ Jesus had paid for man by believing in what Jesus had done. Just confess with your mouth that He is Lord of your life and you shall be saved. “…that if you confess with your mouth, the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10).
It was the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that now guarantee everlasting life for man. Any man that refuses to accept this free gift of God’s life forfeits internal life. The price Jesus paid with his life was to gain the control which man lost when he sinned, but now in Christ, we are assured of everlasting life because God had taken care of death and man can now have access to God through Christ Jesus.
