It is uncertain who first said โAt the heart of the human problem is the problem of the human heart.โ
I remember we frequently shouted the slogan at people during open air services when standing outside Wimbledon Station in the early 1970โs. But we knew we were quoting words sourced elsewhere. The words came to mind again when the furore about AI began. For the human heart also lies at the heart of the AI issue. How good it would be if we could teach a machine to act only on a basis of righteous love. But that isnโt what will happen, though something of hideous strength may arise.
The true Deus Homo already exists and no Homo Deus will replace Him. How we love Him! and better still How He loves Us!
Psalm 107:43b
Consider the great love of the Lord,
Isaiah 40 28
Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
As Margaret and I meditated on these passages, we felt the Lord was saying:
How great is My love!ย I am the God of inexhaustible power and infinite resources, but the greatness of My love surpasses all.ย For I have looked on My creation with a determination to bless that brought My Son to Calvary.ย While you were yet sinners, He died for you, and by My great power broke through the bondage of sin and death.ย As you consider and meditate upon My love, your spirit will be continually strengthened so that you can live for My glory.

You want to please your loved ones, how much more will you want to serve and please Me, for I am your greatest love. As the eagle needs the currents of air in which to soar, so you are always dependent upon the wind of My Holy Spirit, and it is His love that lifts and cheers and strengthens you. As you know to love and worship Father & Son, so be careful to recognise and honour the Holy Spirit also, for He loves you with an equal love and He dwells within you as well as surrounding you with His awesome presence. I am the very atmosphere of your life as essential to you as the air you breathe, and My love is powerfully at work in you to lift you up to the heights of communion, and of praise and worship.
My love is unfathomable, and it is everlasting. I donโt grow weary or tired of loving you. Rather, My love for you surrounds you, is ever about you, and is within you, lighting up your life and bringing comfort and joy within, so that whatever your situation, I am with you, bringing My certain and sure hope. Never give up your hope and trust in Me, for as you continue in this, you will be enabled to do that which otherwise would be impossible for you. I will cause you to soar to the heights, to see things from afar, to run and not tire, and to walk on steadily with Me as your guide and companion, and to gain the prize.
