Strength For Your Heart!

Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD! (Psalm 27:14) NKJV

It takes courage to wait on the Lord. We can get weary and discouraged when we do not see His promises come to pass.

Saul was told to wait for Samuel for seven days, that he would come and offer a burnt offering to God before the battle against the Philistines. Samuel was taking longer to come and there was fear among Saul’s men. They began to scatter, and he was left alone. Saul felt compelled to act and he made a burnt offering shortly before Samuel arrived. He acted outside his role. He was not a priest. Saul lost his throne. It was given to David as God could not trust Saul. God will test your heart; it must be completely yielded to Him. David was a man after God’s own heart (1 Samuel 13).

I had applied for a job and this scripture really moved me to stop acting outside God’s will. I went for an interview and had sensed the interview really went well but I simply did not get the job because it would have taken me outside of God’s will for this season. In my mind, I was thinking I can do both. Work on this job and still focus on prayer as this was the main thing God wants me to do. I have been called to stay in the secret place and intercede for nations, the church, families, and communities. We must wait on the Lord. He knows when it is time for us to move from where He has placed us.

God knows the Time

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6)

Jesus said to them it is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority. God is in control of what is happening around us. Let us be encouraged by that. It is time to trust God and fix our eyes on Him, to live by faith and not by sight.

But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law (Galatians 4:4).

It is the same with our world now, we have prayed for the pandemic to come to an end and God will do so when the time comes. He knows the time and we trust in Him. I am the LORD; “in its time I will hasten it.” (Isaiah 60:22).

He is Doing an Inner Work

And because I preach this good news I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal. But the word of God cannot be chained (2 Timothy 2:9)

God is not limited by your circumstances or location. The gospel continued to spread whilst apostle Paul was in prison. Circumstances do not stop the work of God nor His word from changing and touching lives. God’s plan for your life will succeed and all that He intended for you will come to pass. God began to open doors for divine connections and sharing with me things that He has for my future. I began to hear Him so clearly and His heart. A deeper relationship developed between me and God. So wait on the Lord today and you will see the manifestations of His power at work in your life!
