Father’s Foundations

I really believe that Father is setting foundations at the moment. For too long we have been in social gatherings which we want to call church. Now don’t get me wrong, I want to come together and worship Father, to know His Presence, and to dig deeper into His Word.

But I’ve seen too many times over the years where some have come to church on a Sunday, then an hour later we have left the building, and on the way out we have put God into our box and set Him back on the shelf until next Sunday. That is not God with a big G. That is god with a small g and we have no comprehension of God the Creator, God the Provider, or a Loving Father to Guide our footsteps.

So let me start from the beginning. What happened before the book of Genesis. I don’t claim to know all of the answers, but I can imagine God the Father, Jesus the Son, and Holy Spirit sitting around the table taking in a few rays with a massive mug of coffee each and having a chat. And to be honest, things were good for them, but at the same time, they wanted more than just having the angels doing everything which they were told to do. The Trinity of God wanted more. They wanted to have a relationship, and love, and maybe even someone to laugh with and at. They knew they had to take a risk and that risk was in the form of humanity. They had to give us free will. They wanted us to be in the image of God.

So man and woman were created and they were free to do whatever they wanted, And at the beginning, Adam & Eve loved to walk in the Garden of Eden with Father talking things through each evening. And then they sinned and had to separate from the presence of God.

But Jesus restored that relationship and showed us an example through the disciples of how close we can be with God who wants to be beside us. Every disciple had different levels of intimacy with Jesus. But they all wanted to be there in His presence. And the amazing thing was that Jesus also wanted to be with them. After Jesus’ crucifixion, he came and found them on the shores of Galilee. He also came and found doubting Thomas. Even when we aren’t in the right place Jesus will still come and find us and take time to talk and care for us. To allow us to get our heads into the right place.

I believe this is where we stand now. For too long we have accepted the vague norm (aka a nagging doubt) which makes us question “Does God like us”? The world is constantly seeking to separate us both from each other (sitting in front of the TV, on our mobiles, talking to our supposed best friends on social media, and each member of the family doing the same in different rooms of the house), but even more so from a Father God who has given us everything.

Have you ever taken the time to think about what Father God has given you? God is our creator. We cannot exist unless God spoke and said let there be life for each one of us – Let there be life for Mary, for Steve, for Ayo, for Joshua, for Jane, for every one of us individually. God spoke those words over each and every one of us and called us into life. He wanted to define you, to create you, to declare over you what you can be. He loves you and knows more about you than anyone else. He thinks you are beautiful and wants the opportunity to talk with you every day. Will you give Him some time today?
