Love Stories & Testimonies (2)

Sometimes it all comes in a flash. In one story Jesus stopped to rest at the well in the middle of the day and He pushed into a situation which he normally wouldn’t have had permission to push into.

There was a Samaritan woman who was trying to hide from the people around her. Nobody else came for water at midday. So she came when there was no-one else around. But God had already seen her and knew her heart. Jesus had listened to God and was able to speak to the things that were in her heart, the things that she had been struggling with for a long time. Jesus said “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth”.

The lady knew that only the Messiah would know this. She was so full of emotions that she left her water jar, and went back into the town and asked the people on the street “Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”. Many others from the town came to learn more from Jesus and “Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in Him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did”. Jesus was in the right place at the right time because He was listening to God, and Father gave Him the right words for this lady who was asking questions. Father’s timing is perfect!

The Bible is made up of many stories. I would actually call them love stories because God has been reaching out to us through every day of our lives, showing us how much He loves us. This is really obvious if we read through the Book of Psalms.

So many struggles, and so many times when David could not make sense of what was going on. But he still knew that God is good ALL OF THE TIME, no matter what the circumstances which surrounded him. Or like Joseph when he was thrown in the pit and sold as a slave, then bought as a slave into Potiphar’s house the egyptian steward, and then thrown into jail after he was accused of assaulting his master’s wife. And then to be lifted up and established as the governor of Egypt to oversee the preparation for famine. Then Joseph’s brothers came and bowed down before him asking to buy food for their families. All of this had been told by Father God in the dreams which had been given to Joseph when he was a child. Only Father God could have sorted out this process of love.
