Bowhead Whales can live for two hundred years or more. Some have been found with old harpoon fragments from the 1800s still embedded in them! Old hurts can still be troublesome as the years pass. Grace and forgiveness are the precious healing balm but need to be applied again and again in many lives.
Margaret and I were meditating on Psalm 116:7 “Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.” and we felt the Lord was saying:-
I am your loving Father, and it pleases Me to bless you with good things. I do not want you to behave like an anxious and worried orphan trying bravely to face the future. I want you to remain a child embraced in the Fatherโs arms. I want you to enjoy the days I give you without fear that they will be taken away from you. I want you to be so close to Me that outward circumstances are not the final source of your contentment.
My word has always been โabideโ. You invited Me into your heart. I came willingly, and I abide there still. You also are invited to reign with Me. It is your privilege to stand in the courts of heaven, and to enter without shame into the Holy of Holies. Abide in My grace. Abide in My love and joy and peace. Walk with Me in the paradise gardens. Rest with Me among the fruitful trees, and by the still waters and green pastures. Cherish My company and be sensitive to anything that would rob you of your delight in Me. Tune your ears to My song over you. Let My word dwell in you richly. Live by faith and in calmness of spirit. For every day and all the time I am indeed good, and it is My will that you be blessed. Be at rest in Me, beloved, for certainly you have known My goodness and kindness in your life.
You have experienced My protection and My compassion, and I have caused you to walk with Me in ways of pleasantness and paths of peace. Though you have known trouble and hardness, you have also known My deliverance and care. Walk before Me upon the Earth, let your light shine, so that people may be drawn to Me, the great light of the world. Trust Me more and more; I am fully trustworthy, and you will know My blessing and My kindness all your days.
