The Alpha and Omega

There was a time when the Toronto Airport Church owned a tract of land in Canada deep in the unpolluted wilderness. It included “Star Lake”. They were puzzled about the name since the lake was not star-shaped. One night they went out to look at the lake in the moonlight. It had become like a gigantic mirror reflecting the myriad stars in the sky above…

We are great-grandparents and now have 17 great-grandchildren. The other day Margaret was reading an entry in her diary for 2015. It recorded this conversation.

Grandpa Clive overheard talking to two-year-old Isla.

Grandpa “Shall we go out and sit in a puddle?”

Isla “No, I don’t want to sit in a puddle!”

Many young children enjoy stomping in puddles, but if at night you look in a puddle you might see a star.

For many people life is a mucky track full of puddles. May our Father God help us to look into the wretchedness but see a reflection of the Star of Bethlehem?

We were meditating on Revelation 22:13 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last the Beginning and the End…The bright and Morning Star.”

We felt the Lord was saying: –

I AM He who begins, and He who finishes. In every person in whom I have begun a good work, I will always bring it to completion. There is none before Me and none after Me.

I AM the only One, the only God, and the only Saviour.

I AM the Hidden One, and the One who is to be revealed in all My glory and My

splendour. I bring about new birth. There is nothing stagnant about My person.

I AM the newness of the morning and the beauty of the evening.

I AM the bright and morning Star, shining in the darkness and guiding travellers upon

their pathway,

I AM the One who brings steadiness and stability to lives, and a lightness and laughter to the spirit of those who put their trust in Me.

Think big thoughts of Me and of your future in Me. I was there from the beginning,

begotten not created. I shall be there at the end, yet there is no end. I am truly human and also truly God. In Me, My Father finds joy and satisfaction, for `I AM His beloved Son.’

Let your faith take hold of the truth that you are in Me. Because this is so, then you also are beloved of My Father and reflect My glory into a darkened world.

Your life is part of My eternal purposes, and your name is written in My book of life. There is a future for you and reward for you. Live in hope and in praise and thankfulness.
